What does it take to make a good speech or presentation? The content should add value to the speaker’s chosen audience. The speaker should be sincere. The delivery should be practised.
I think Susan Day shows how it should be done. The topic is relevant to everyone, she is clearly at ease with her material and uses personal anecdotes to illustrate the main points. The language is clear and the delivery well-judged. It is never over-dramatic but the speaker still manages to convince us that she means what she says.
The ease with which the speaker conveys her material indicates that she has spent enough time rehearsing the presentation. She makes it look easy. Clarity, authenticity, pacing are added to good content to make a brilliant presentation.
